How do people use this for Madden challenges?

The standard format: spin once, and the result is your franchise for a full rebuild or season — no re-spins, no trades in year one, roster as-is. Add a second spin for a constraint, like ‘must win the division within three seasons’ or ‘rookie QB must start’. For online franchise leagues, spin per member and delete each result so all 32 assignments are provably random.

Can it make my survivor pool pick?

It can, with one caveat: a pure random spin ignores matchups, which is either the problem or the whole point. The wheel doesn’t know records, point spreads, or who just fired their coordinator. If you want weighted odds, add a team to the list twice; duplicates are allowed and double a team’s chances.
